Accessibility

Last revised 3 September 2026

This website is designed with accessibility in mind. The goal is straightforward: information about financial protection should be usable by as many people as possible, including people who use a keyboard, a screen reader, magnification, or a small screen.

What has been tested

During the build, this site was checked for the following:

  • Keyboard navigation
Menus, links, form fields and expandable FAQ sections can be operated without a mouse.
  • Visible focus
The element you are on is outlined so you can see where you are while tabbing.
  • Colour contrast
Text and background combinations are measured against the WCAG 2.1 AA contrast ratios.
  • Labelled forms
Every form field has a visible label, and errors are described in text rather than by colour alone.
  • Heading structure
Each page has a single main heading and a logical heading order beneath it.
  • Responsive layouts
Pages are tested at common phone, tablet and desktop widths without sideways scrolling.
  • Interactive target sizes
Buttons, links and form controls are sized to be comfortable to tap.

What this page does not claim. This is not a certification, and it is not a guarantee that the website meets any particular legal standard or that every page is free of accessibility problems. Testing catches a lot, but it does not catch everything — and no automated check substitutes for a real person's experience.

If something does not work for you

If you run into a barrier on this website — something you cannot read, reach, tab to, or complete — please tell us. It is genuinely useful to know, and it will be looked at.

If it helps, mention the page you were on, the device or browser you were using, and any assistive technology involved. If a form on this site is the thing that is not working for you, contact by phone or email instead and the same help is available that way.

Report an accessibility problem

Tell Menchie what happened and where, and it will be reviewed.
